Sunday’s humiliating loss to the Carolina Panthers shows the team still has a long way to go before they’re ready to compete with the NFL’s elite organizations. While the 40-9 loss ensures they’re not legitimate Super Bowl contenders, they could still win a weak NFC South, and a Jakobi Meyers trade could help them accomplish that goal.
Carolina entered the season with sky-high expectations for Jalen Coker, but the former undrafted free agent hasn’t done too much thus far. After missing the early part of the season with an injury, the Holy Cross product has recorded just three receptions for 36 yards in his two games of action. Perhaps he can improve as he knocks off the dust, but a Jakobi Meyers trade would ensure that Bryce Young has someone reliable to target in the short and intermediate parts of the field.
