2. Kansas City Chiefs
After a slow start to the season, the Kansas City Chiefs are back and firing on all cylinders. The offense looked like its dominant self during their lopsided 31-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, as the return of Rashee Rice has Patrick Mahomes in the thick of the MVP race. While this team will always go as far as Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid can carry them, they’ll need a good defense to get through the AFC and return to the Super Bowl.
George Karlaftis is having a strong season, but the rest of the defensive line could use some work. The rest of the edge defenders leave something to be desired, and Chris Jones isn’t playing up to his usual standards. Kansas City has the talent to go on a deep playoff run, but adding a premier talent like Jermaine Johnson in a trade will only increase their odds of winning a fourth Super Bowl in the Patrick Mahomes Era.
