1. New England Patriots
The New England Patriots made a mistake when they effectively chose Juju Smith-Schuster over Jakobi Meyers in March of 2023. Now, it’s time to rectify that mistake. Drake Maye is playing at an MVP level, most recently completing a staggering 91.3% of his passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns against the Tennessee Titans. Stefon Diggs looks like a legitimate WR1 and Kayshon Boutte has developed a strong rapport with Maye, but this team needs a third option. Demario Douglas has been too inconsistent, and Jakobi Meyers could be the perfect fit for this offense.
Jakobi Meyers hasn’t played with a quarterback as good as Maye since his rookie season with Tom Brady, so he’d probably welcome a trade back to his original team. The Patriots have legitimate Super Bowl aspirations for the first time since 2021, and now is the time for them to capitalize on the window provided by Drake Maye’s rookie contract.
