Jake Tonges – San Francisco 49ers Tight End

With George Kittle on IR, Tonges stepped into a pretty sizeable role for San Francisco. For a waiver wire tight end, five targets and four receptions are pretty solid. He’s not the flashiest of options, but he gets a great matchup against the Swiss cheese Arizona Cardinals defense this week.

Tonges is an option if your starting tight end is hurt, or drafted T.J. Hockenson and feel bad about it.

Ja’Tavion Sanders – Carolina Panthers Tight End

Entering year two, expectations were pretty low for JT Sanders. Through two weeks, he’s the TE15 and a reasonable streaming option. The Cardinals were a great matchup, but he gets nice ones in Weeks 4 and 5 against New England and Miami. Sanders is in the stash for later category, but he was a pretty exciting prospect who might be putting it together early in 2025.

Quarterbacks

In Superflex leagues, starting quarterbacks are gold. Here are some quarterbacks who were injured in Week 2 or earlier, and their backups available on most waiver wires:

  • Joe Burrow – Jake Browning
  • Justin Fields – Tyrod Taylor
  • J.J. McCarthy – Carson Wentz
  • Brock Purdy – Mac Jones
  • Jayden Daniels – Marcus Mariota
