The Dallas Cowboys had a rough season in 2024, but Jourdan Lewis had one of the best seasons of his career. Appearing in 16 games while making 13 starts, the veteran finished the season with one interception, eight passes defended, one sack, 71 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, two quarterback hits, and a 71.7 PFF grade, the 29th-best mark out of 116 eligible players. Despite his impressive play, a seemingly endless line of injuries kept the Cowboys from the playoffs and led to head coach Mike McCarthy’s departure following the season.

Jourdan Lewis originally entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Selected by the Dallas Cowboys, the Michigan product played a key role on the team right out of the gate. Appearing in 15 games while making seven starts, the rookie finished his inaugural campaign with one interception, 10 passes defended, 54 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and a 72.0 PFF grade. The Cowboys themselves finished with a 9-7 record, but that wasn’t enough to put the team in the playoffs.

Jourdan Lewis continued in a similar role over the next three seasons before signing a contract extension in March of 2021. The cornerback rewarded this faith with another reliable season, appearing in 16 games while making 13 starts and recording three interceptions 11 passes defended, 1.4 sacks, 61 tackles, one tackle-for-loss, and three quarterback hits. The interceptions and passes defended remain career highs and his play helped the team make the playoffs. Unfortunately, Dallas lost in the Wild Card Round to the San Francisco 49ers.

Since signing his rookie contract, Jourdan Lewis has appeared in 115 games while making 64 starts. During his time on the field, the Michigan product recorded 10 interceptions, 44 passes defended, 9.5 sacks, 386 tackles, 19 tackles-f0r-loss, and 10 quarterback hits.
