Monday Night Football Daily Fantasy Picks

Which underrated players are going to provide your daily fantasy team with valuable points that could prove to be decisive?
Fantasy

“Monday Night Football” pitches two teams who have very different off-seasons. The Bills have only lost Devin Singletary and Jamison Crowder and figure to be a young and exciting team. The Jets on the other hand have opted to add some veteran stars to the mix. That means some players immediately look overvalued in fantasy terms, but who could win you some money?

A Fantasy Gamble – Jets defense

This is the contrary fantasy play here, but the Jets’ defense allowed the fewest points in the 2022 regular season. Their issue was scoring enough points to win, and the offense improvements have been well publicized. The Jets defense forced 11 fumbles in 2022 and the Bills fumbled 24 times! Four of those fumbles were by players who are no longer in New York, but 20 is still more than once a game. When that Jets defensive front is all available and healthy, they are a formidable outfit. They should put Josh Allen under pressure and with Devin Singletary to pass block he’ll need to make quick decisions. Allen was sacked 33 times out last time and was responsible for 13 fumbles. He also threw 14 interceptions and with nobody sure how happy Steffon Diggs is the Bills offense may not dominate as many expect.

A Fantasy Stalwart – Dalvin Cook

This one might seem obvious, but Cook is the seventh most expensive player on one fantasy site. He’s the third most valuable running back. Breece Hall is the most expensive back, but he is still returning from his ACL injury so it seems unlikely he will monopolize the Jets’ carries. Dalvin’s younger brother James is more expensive than him too, but the Bills’ most successful rusher in 2022 was Josh Allen. He carried 34 times more than Cook did last season and Cook graduating to the lead back from his 2022 change of pace role is not a guaranteed homerun. The older Cook only averaged 69 yards a game in 2022 but the Vikings threw 60% of the time. Cook averaged 7.6 yards per catch too, so even if the Jets want Aaron Rodgers to lead the offense Cook will be valuable as a runner or receiver.

Deonte Harty

This is another contrary pick, but when there is only one game to pick from a lineup needs a point of difference to stand out. Harty is one of the most unappreciated players in the league. He’ll primarily be returning punts and kicks with Nyheim Hines being injured. But Ourlads list him as the first in line at slot receiver too. That makes the chances of him being used on jet sweeps and to catch screen passes if the Bills struggle to run against the Jets defensive front. Playing in the slot will also keep Harty away from Sauce Gardner, it could even see him lineup opposite one of the Jets’ linebackers, or a safety. With Harty’s ability to beat the first defender, the Bills should be looking for those matchups.

C.J Uzomah

All you need to know about Uzomah is he has a 77.8% catch rate since the 2021 season! He’s caught 70 of his 90 targets and seven of them were scoring passes. He’s also very big, 6 feet 6 inches tall, so it doesn’t matter who is defending him. His reach allows him to catch passes that nobody else can get to.
