Devin Singletary Signs Contract With Houston Texans

NFL veteran running back Devin Singletary signed a new contract with the Houston Texans. Singletary, a former third-round pick, spent the entirety of his career with the Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo Bills starting running back Devin Singletary had yet another successful season in 2022. Starting in all 16 games in which he appeared, the three-down runner finished the season with 819 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 177 carries to go along with 38 receptions for 280 yards and one touchdown on 58 targets. The Bills had one of the best offenses in the league and made it all the way to the AFC Divisional Round.

Devin Singletary originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Selected by the Buffalo Bills, the Florida Atlantic product began his career as the 1A in a committee role. Appearing in 12 games while making eight starts, the rookie finished his inaugural season with 151 carries for 775 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 29 receptions for 194 yards and two touchdowns on 41 targets.

Despite the offseason addition of Zack Moss, Singletary’ role largely remained the same in 2020. Starting all 16 games, the running back recorded 687 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 156 carries to go along with 38 receptions for 269 yards on 50 targets. Josh Allen, meanwhile, had a breakout season, and the Bills made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game.

Singletary further cemented his grip on the starting job in 2021 and had perhaps the best season of his career. Appearing in all 17 games, the Florida Atlantic product recorded 870 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 188 carries to go with 40 receptions for 228 yards and one touchdown.

Since signing his rookie contract, Devin Singletary has played in 61 games, making 56 starts. While on the field, he has recorded 3,151 rushing yards on 672 carries and 971 yards on 145 receptions with a combined 20 touchdowns.
