Odell Beckham Free Agent Landing Spots

Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham should have plenty of suitors now that the NFL trade deadline is over and done with.
Odell Beckham Free Agent

The NFL trade deadline is officially over and done with, and several receiver-needy teams failed to make an acquisition. However, all hope is not yet lost. Wide receiver Odell Beckham is still a free agent, and he should have no shortage of suitors now that he is the only real option for several contenders looking to improve their offensive weaponry.

Top Five Odell Beckham Free Agent Team Fits

1. Green Bay Packers

Far and away the most likely team on this list, the Green Bay Packers desperately need to give Aaron Rodgers some help. Alan Lazard was not able to fill the void left by Davante Adams, and rookies Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs clearly weren’t ready for a Day 1 role. The Packers didn’t acquire anybody at the trade deadline, and one could argue that was the correct decision. However, Aaron Rodgers is not getting any younger, so the Packers need to make the most of what time they have left with the four-time MVP. Odell Beckham is no Davante Adams, but he’d easily be the best receiver on the roster.

2. Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are currently Super Bowl favorites, and for good reason. Josh Allen is the MVP frontrunner, Stefon Diggs is playing like a man possessed, and the defense is shutting down opponents left and right, and they’re getting Tre’Davious White back from the injured reserve. The only real weakness on the roster is wide receiver depth. Gabriel Davis is a fine complementary weapon, but he’s not quite ready to be the second option in a high-octane passing attack. Odell Beckham would be a perfect fit for Buffalo’s offense, and the Bills give Beckham his best shot at winning another Super Bowl.

3. Los Angeles Chargers

In what’s becoming something of an annual tradition, the Los Angeles Chargers cannot stay healthy. Keenan Allen has been battling a hamstring injury for the entire season, and Mike Williams is going to miss a month of action with an ankle injury. With those two gone, the Chargers do not have much in terms of proven commodities in the passing game. Assuming Beckham is healthy, he should be able to step right in as the top option in the passing attack. Once Williams and Allen return from their various ailments, the Chargers could have the best trio of receivers in the game.

4. New York Giants

Currently sitting at 6-2, the New York Giants are one of the biggest surprises in the NFL. First-year head coach Brian Daboll has breathed some life into one of the league’s most historical franchises, and what better way to continue the magical run than by bringing in one of the best players in franchise history? Beckham would fill a huge need as well, as the Giants are running perilously low on pass catchers.

5. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs would have been a lot higher on this list if it weren’t for the acquisition of Kadarius Toney. However, while Toney provides plenty of untapped potential, the Chiefs might want a safer option for the short term. Travis Kelce is still unstoppable and Juju Smith-Schuster is coming into his own, but the rest of the depth chart leaves something to be desired. Odell Beckham would be a welcome third option in the passing attack, and who wouldn’t want to spend the twilight years of their career catching passes from Patrick Mahomes?
