Aaron Rodgers Leaving the Green Bay Packers Could Happen

Aaron Rodgers leaving the Green Bay Packers could happen. The front office needs to do better to ensure Rodgers doesn't depart Green Bay.

It’s no secret that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been mistreated by the organization despite his impeccable talent. If further proof is needed, look no further than the 2020 NFL Draft. The Packers traded up, and the assumption was that they would draft a wide receiver or a defensive player who filled a need. They did draft an offensive player, but to the shock of many, it was Utah State quarterback Jordan Love. The shock was palpable and well deserved. And that is partly why Aaron Rodgers leaving the Green Bay Packers could happen.

The second round was no different when they selected running back AJ Dillon, who does have talent but isn’t the wide receiver the Packers need. Green Bay did draft decently the rest of the way, with one of the better picks being Kamal Martin, but they didn’t get any real help for Rodgers. The Packers not drafting to help Rodgers is an issue that goes back years. Whether it be during Mike McCarthy’s tenure or in the early run of Matt LeFleur, it should be noted that Aaron Rodgers has been mistreated, and he may want to leave Green Bay.

Front Office Must Do Better Now

At this point in his career, it is clear that Rodgers needs another championship. He has put so much work into this profession. Since being drafted out of California back in 2005, Rodgers has cemented himself as one of the greats. He had a great run in 2010 that will forever keep him in Green Bay lore. He led the Packers to three road playoff victories which culminated in a Super Bowl championship over the Pittsburgh Steelers where Rodgers was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.

In addition to hoisting the Lombardi Trophy, Rodgers has won multiple league MVP awards and sparked numerous debates about his place in NFL lore. However, recent events have fans and pundits buzzing about whether or not Rodgers needs to move on from the Packers. In fact, he should. He has given the city everything and, outside of him and a few other players such as David Bakhtiari, Kenny Clark, Aaron Jones, and Davante Adams, there aren’t many recognizable names. Yes, they have talented players, but when it comes to Green Bay, the first name that comes to mind is Rodgers. That alone is an indication that the man needs help and the Packers front office must get Rodgers what is needed to win another Super Bowl.

The Future

Recently, the quarterback market has been growing. Matthew Stafford was just traded from the Detroit Lions to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for Jared Goff and multiple draft picks. The Houston Texans could potentially move on from Deshaun Watson. The New England Patriots quarterback room is still in question, as is that of the Packers division rival Chicago Bears. There are a number of teams with questions at quarterback.

Last Word

There is only one solution to this problem. The Green Bay Packers need to listen to Aaron Rodgers and surround him with help. If he is as important to the organization as they say he is, then they need to follow through and go all in to win now. If they are not willing to do that they need to let Rodgers go. Although Rodgers is older than Watson, Green Bay should not go down the same road that Houston is right now. Otherwise Aaron Rodgers leaving the Green Bay Packer could happen and they organization would have only one Super Bowl with him under center.
