Logan Ryan Signs Deal With New York Giants

Logan Ryan spent the 2019 season serving as the primary slot cornerback for the Tennessee Titans, although he also lined up wide on a variety of occasions. Starting in all 16 games, Ryan recorded four interceptions, 18 passes defended, four forced fumbles, and 4.5 sacks. Additionally, Ryan had the game-sealing pick-six against the New England Patriots in the AFC Wild Card Round.

Ryan initially entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Selected by the New England Patriots, Ryan began his career as the third cornerback on the depth chart. Despite the lack of consistent playing time, Ryan managed to record five interceptions as a rookie, earning the nickname “Instant Offense” in the process.

Logan Ryan saw a reserve role in 2014 but earned a full-time starting job in 2015. Starting opposite Malcolm Butler, the duo led one of the better secondaries in football. Ryan ended the year with four interceptions and 16 passes defended. He proved he wasn’t a one-year fluke in 2016, as Ryan had a second great season for New England and played a big role in winning Super Bowl LI.

Following his four years in New England, Logan Ryan signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Tennessee Titans. The deal carried with it $12 million in guaranteed money and made him a three-year starter for Tennessee.

Throughout the course of his career, Ryan has played in 109 games, starting 85. During his time on the field, the former third-round pick has recorded 17 interceptions, 78 passes defended, and 19 forced fumbles. Tennessee utilized him more as a blitzer, as Ryan recorded 9.5 of his 11 career sacks with the Titans.
