Anthony Sherman has signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs to remain in Kansas City. Sherman signed a similar extension last off-season worth just over $1 million dollars, so it is reasonable to assume this deal will be in a similar price range.

Anthony Sherman Re-Signs With Kansas City Chiefs

Sherman made the 2019 Pro Bowl as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. Originally drafted in the fifth round out of UConn, he spent his first two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. Sherman joined the Chiefs in 2013 and has been with them ever since. He has been one of the stalwarts at a position that, while dying, is still playing a pivotal role in offenses. Even though he does not have the numbers to show for it, Sherman is as dependable as they come. He has a 76 percent catch rate and has been on the receiving end of many important throws, such as this one against the Raiders in December.

Sherman does not have the stats that a normal halfback would. In fact, he has just 612 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns in his nine-year career. The fullback position is not known for putting up big statistical numbers, though. Sherman has thrived as a blocker since joining the Chiefs. He has led the way for running backs such as Jamaal Charles, Kareem Hunt and Damien Williams. He is known around the league for his blocking prowess.

Sherman has also never missed a game in his seven years with the Kansas City organization. Durability like that is critical in today’s NFL and makes him a valuable piece of the current Super Bowl champions. He will be back in the red and white, ready to help the Chiefs make another run at glory in 2020.
