Fantasy Football Week 12 Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Claims: Darius Slayton, DeVante Parker, More

Fantasy Football Week 12 Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Claims: Darius Slayton and DeVante Parker should be smart waiver wire pickups moving forward.

11 weeks of NFL play are officially in the books, which means bye weeks are in full swing. Gone are the days where you could just coast by on a strong draft. Now more than ever, you’ll need to search the waiver wire for all the best available wide receivers. Heading into Week 12, you should set your eyes on Darius Slayton, DeVante Parker, Tim Patrick, and more.

Note that in order to make this list, the player had to be available in over 50% of fantasy leagues. If you’re in smaller leagues, there may be better players available. Make sure to check your waivers to see if there are any diamonds in the rough before submitting your claims.

Darius Slayton

New York Giants rookie wide receiver Darius Slayton is considerably better than his fifth-round draft pedigree would imply. Slayton flashed his potential throughout the season but took the next step in his development in Week 10. The rookie recorded 10 receptions for 121 yards and two touchdowns on 14 targets against the New York Jets. He should continue to be the top passing option moving forward, alongside Golden Tate.

Darius Slayton faces an unfavorable matchup in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears. While the Bears still have a good defense, they’ve taken a step back from their 2018 form. If Slayton continues to receive a high target share, then he should still be effective against this above-average defense.

DeVante Parker

Miraculously, DeVante Parker is owned in just 39.1% of NFL.com fantasy leagues. The Miami Dolphins top wide receiver has surprisingly been one of the most consistent players in the league and just recorded seven receptions for 135 yards on 10 targets. The Dolphins are going to trail in most of their games, and Ryan Fitzpatrick has no other reliable weapon in the passing game. If Parker’s available in your league, make sure to pick him up and plug him in your flex spot.

Tim Patrick

After just one game, Tim Patrick looks like a better fit for the WR2 spot in Denver than DaeSean Hamilton ever did. Patrick had his chance to earn a role in Denver’s offense, and he made his case with a four-reception, 77-yard performance. Barring something unexpected, he should earn the starting role opposite Courtland Sutton moving forward.

This isn’t the first time Patrick has made his mark on the NFL stage. Over the final four games of 2018, Patrick recorded 19 receptions for 242 yards while catching passes from Case Keenum. Tim Patrick doesn’t have the highest upside in the world but can be a solid flex play if you need a stream.
