Isaiah Crowell Signs With Oakland Raiders

Five-year NFL veteran running back Isaiah Crowell is off the market. Crowell spent the 2018 season with the New York Jets.

Five-year NFL veteran running back Isaiah Crowell signed a one year, $2.5 million deal with the Oakland Raiders. The number of guarantees in the contract are unknown but Crowell will remain with the team until 2020. Crowell, an Alabama State product, spent the 2018 season with the New York Jets but has also played for the Cleveland Browns.

Isaiah Crowell, Oakland Raiders Agree to Contract

Crowell spent the 2018 season splitting carries with the New York Jets. Appearing in 13 games and starting six, the first-year Jet recorded 685 yards and six touchdowns on 143 carries. Additionally, Crowell added an additional 21 receptions on 28 targets for 152 yards. Crowell’s best game came in Week Five against the Denver Broncos when he recorded 219 rushing yards and one touchdown on 15 carries.

Crowell initially entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent following the 2014 NFL Draft. Signed by the Cleveland Browns, Crowell started the 2014 season as a backup to Ben Tate and fellow rookie Terrance West but earned a bigger role as the season progressed. In all, Crowell appeared in 16 games as a rookie, recording 607 yards and eight touchdowns on 148 rushing attempts.

Crowell saw a bigger role in 2015, appearing in all 16 games but recording a career-high nine starts. During his time on the field, Crowell recorded 185 rushing attempt for 706 yards and four touchdowns. Additionally, Crowell added an extra 19 receptions on 22 targets for 182 yards and a touchdown.

Crowell spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons as the lead back on the Cleveland Browns. Appearing and starting in all 32 games, Crowell recorded a combined 404 rushing attempts for 1,805 yards and nine touchdowns to go along with 68 receptions for 501 yards. His best season came in 2016 when he recorded 198 carries for 952 yards and seven touchdowns along with 40 receptions for 319 yards. The rushing and receiving yards were the most of his career while the seven touchdowns remain the second-best total of his career.

Throughout his five-year career, Crowell has recorded 1,816 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 465 carries.
