Team USA has named their final 25-man roster for the 2021 World Junior Hockey Championships. The tournament begins on December 25th inside the bubble in Edmonton, Alberta. Team USA will open the tournament on Christmas Day against Russia. The Americans are coached by Nate Leaman.

Team USA Names Roster For 2021 World Junior Championships
Heading into this tournament this group has some unfinished business. The Americans are loaded with Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks prospects. Team USA has an exciting offensive group upfront by Montreal Canadiens prospect Cole Caufield, Los Angeles Kings prospects Alex Turcotte and Arthur Kaliyev, Anaheim Ducks prospect Trevor Zegras.
Defensively the Americans are led by the fifth overall selection in the 2020 NHL Draft and Ottawa Senators prospect Jake Sanderson. Joining him will be Philadelphia Flyers prospect Cam York.
Team USA will have a couple of familiar faces in between the pipes once the tournament begins. Florida Panthers prospect Spencer Knight and Calgary Flames prospect Dustin Wolf will be the duo the Americans go with heading into Edmonton. Team USA will bring a third goalie as well just in case there is an injury
Team USA will be without two notable players that were eligible to play in the tournament. New Jersey Devils prospect Jack Hughes and Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Nick Roberston. Both had the opportunity to play but decided to focus on the NHL. Apparently, it was a last-minute decision by Roberston to miss the tournament. He was a lock to make this team as he was going to meet the team in Edmonton. Instead, Roberston will look to make the opening night roster for the Maple Leafs.
