Nashville Predators Add Bottom-Six Forward to Two-Year Deal

The Nashville Predators add to their lineup. News emerged that the Preds have signed the Alexander Kerfoot contract to a 2-year deal with an average annual value of $2.5million. The Predators have been active this offseason, adding players like Mavrik Bourque and Jack Drury over the past few days. In addition to these moves, they’ve now added veteran forward Alex Kerfoot in a depth signing.

The Nashville Predators Continue to Add to Their Roster

With this move, the Predators add a veteran forward capable of killing penalties and playing a speedy style. Kerfoot spent the 2025-26 season with the Utah Mammoth, appearing in 34 games. He scored seven goals and 13 points. A former fifth-round pick, the veteran forward has spent time with various teams, including the Colorado Avalanche and Toronto Maple Leafs. In going to Nashville, Kerfoot has an opportunity to establish himself on a team hoping to return to the playoffs.

For the Predators, this move marks another one allowing them to compete for the playoffs without committing long-term in case things go sideways. At a team-friendly $2.5million per season, the contract is one that could easily be moved to a contender for assets if needed. Kerfoot will likely slot into the team’s bottom-six, adding speed and skill.

What It Means

Kerfoot can slot into the middle-six of any roster. He does whatever is asked of him and can chip in with some goals if needed.

Nashville and new general manager Chris MacFarland have been hard at work this offseason to retool their roster. The Predators are coming off missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but the club does have some decent players.

MacFarland has been anything but passive since shifting over to the Music City from rival Colorado. The Predators still have work to do, but have been aggressive this offseason.
