Sissons Signs With Toronto, Bolstering Their Centre Depth
Sissons is not that much of a point producer, but he excels in other ways, such as playing a hard-nosed game and being well-liked in the locker room. He is a versatile forward who can play centre or wing, as well as logging a lot of penalty kill minutes. In fact, in the last ten years, Sissons ranks third in the entire NHL in short-handed minutes played, at 1,529 minutes. Sissons logged just eleven points in 66 games last season with the Vegas Golden Knights and eight points in 22 Stanley Cup Playoff games. In his career, he has recorded 101 goals and 131 assists for 232 points in 756 NHL games played.
Prior to joining the Golden Knights alongside the recently re-signed Jeremy Lauzon after the 2024-25 season, Sissons played with the Nashville Predators for 12 seasons. His last contract was a seven-year contract signed by the Preds at $2.857 million per season.

What It Means
There must have been something they really liked about his game to bring a bottom-six forward back for such a long time. Whether it is his solid face-off stats or his versatile two-way play, the Leafs are bringing in a reliable forward who can play those tough defensive minutes.
