What It Means

There may still be some things to sort out for the Oilers and the defence this offseason with the Darnell Nurse situation. However, general manager Stan Bowman is taking care of one part of his defensive group.

Murphy fit in pretty well with Edmonton in his short tenure with the club. He may not score goals, but he is a useful part of the team’s defensive group.

It will be a pivotal offseason for Edmonton. However, one piece of the puzzle has been taken care of.
