NHL Predictions
St Louis Blues vs Boston Bruins
Head-to-Head: Blues 0-1 Bruins
TV: NESN; Bally Sports Midwest; ESPN+
Our opening and featured game of NHL predictions has the Blues taking on the Bruins in a rematch of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final. St Louis is expected to go with Jordan Binnington in goal, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Blues have lost three straight and got shutout 3-0 by the New York Rangers on Saturday night. Pavel Buchnevich is first in goals with 24 while Robert Thomas leads in assists with 49.
Jeremy Swayman is the expected starter for the Bruins, who are 5-1-4 in the last 10 games. Boston has played better in the back-half of the 10-game stretch. David Pastrnak leads the team in goals (40) and assists (53) in his chase to get another 100-point season. The Bruins are in the top seven of goals for, goals allowed, power play and penalty kill rating.
There will be no “Gloria” played tonight for St Louis fans. Boston didn’t do a lot at the deadline, but it seems to be galvanized in recent games.
Prediction: Bruins win 5-2.
New Jersey Devils vs New York Rangers
Head-to-Head: Devils 0-2 Rangers
TV: MSG; MSGSN; NHL Network
The New Jersey Devils travel across the Hudson River to battle the Rangers for the third time this season. Newly acquired goalie Jake Allen could make his Devils debut against the Blueshirts. New Jersey needs to get moving if it wants to make some sort of push for the post-season. The Devils are six back of the Philadelphia Flyers for the last spot, but have a game in hand. Jesper Bratt leads the team in goals (22) and assists (42) this campaign.
Jonathan Quick is the confirmed starter with New York having back-to-back games. The Rangers are 7-2-1 in the last 10 games and are coming off a great performance against the Blues on Saturday. Artemi Panarin leads in goals (32) and assists (57) so far this 2023-24 season. The Rangers are fifth on the power play and the penalty kill.
New Jersey needs points to stay alive, but the Rangers need points to hold off the Carolina Hurricanes. The Blueshirts get a close one.
Prediction: Rangers win 3-2.
New York Islanders vs Los Angeles Kings
Head-to-Head: Islanders 1-0 Kings
TV: MSGSN; Bally Sports West; Sportsnet; ESPN+
Our final main game of today’s NHL predictions has the New York Islanders looking to add to their six-game winning streak. General manager Lou Lamoriello may not have done anything at the trade deadline, but getting Patrick Roy may have saved the Isles season. The team is playing much harder and charging towards a post-season berth. Brock Nelson leads the way in goals for the Islanders with 29.
The Los Angeles Kings are expected to go with Cam Talbot in between the pipes. Los Angeles is 5-4-1 in the last 10 games, but tied with the Vegas Golden Knights for the last automatic spot in the West. Trevor Moore leads the team in goals while Kevin Fiala has 36 assist.
LA is usually good at home, but the Isles have been red-hot.
Prediction: Islanders win 5-3.
Here is the other game for today’s NHL predictions.
Washington Capitals vs Winnipeg Jets
Head-to-Head: Capitals 0-0 Jets
TV: Monument Sports Network; Sportsnet; ESPN+
Prediction: Jets win 4-2.
