According to reports the New York Islanders have re-signed restricted free agent forward Anthony Beauvillier to a three-year contract worth $12.3 million, or $ 4.1 million per season. This contract carries him through the 2023-24 season.

UPDATE: The Islanders have made the deal official, announcing they’ve reached an agreement on a multi-year deal with Beauvillier.
Isles Bring Back Anthony Beauvillier
Over his five-year NHL career, Beauvillier has only played for the New York Islanders. He has put up 81 goals and 74 assists for 155 career points in 333 career games. The Islanders originally drafted him in the first round, 28th overall in the 2015 NHL Draft.
Last season he scored 15 goals and 13 assists for 28 points in 47 games. He also added 12 penalty minutes this campaign. His possession numbers were 50.3 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of 2.7. The Sorel-Tracy, Quebec native added five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 19 Stanley Cup playoff games this season.
He was a two-time 40-goal scorer with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Beauvillier has also represented Canada on the international level and was part of the gold medal-winning team at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka tournament. He’s also been on the World Junior and World Championship squads for his home country.
What This Means for the Future
Beauvillier is part of a big free-agent trio for the Islanders with Ilya Sorokin and Adam Pelech. All three will hopefully be cornerstones for the up-and-coming franchise. General manager Lou Lamoriello has done a great job constructing a contending roster and Beauvillier is a huge proponent. There’s still work to be done to keep all three locked up for the foreseeable future.
The winger has scored at least 15 goals in all four of his full seasons with the club. His career-high was 21 in the 2017-18 season and got 18 in the next two years after that. He really broke out with nine goals in the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs with nine goals as the Islanders reached the Eastern Conference Final.
