The Carolina Hurricanes look to make it back-to-back sweeps in this latest edition of NHL predictions. Carolina has the Philadelphia Flyers in an 0-3 hole going into this potentially series-clinching Game 4. The Hurricanes are looking the part of the best team in the Eastern Conference. Everything seems to be coming together for a team looking to make its fourth consecutive Eastern Conference Final.
Philadelphia knows it has some work to do to even send the series back to Raleigh. The young Flyers have struggled to keep up with the veteran Hurricanes in multiple phases of the game. Rick Tocchet‘s men didn’t seem content to just make the second round. However, the team’s stay in that round could be a short one.
Let’s take a look at the statistics and storylines heading into this possibly series-ending Game 4 in today’s NHL predictions.
The Hurricanes Story
It seems that Carolina is getting contributions from a plethora of sources. Jordan Staal and Jordan Martinook took over Game 3 to give the Canes an impressive 4-1 victory on the road. Carolina is looking to put Philadelphia out in four games just like the Ottawa Senators in the opening round.
Frederik Andersen will likely draw the start once again for the Hurricanes in Game 4. The Great Dane has a 1.02 goals-against-average and a .957 save percentage with a pair of shutouts. He’s been a main factor to why the Hurricanes have won their first seven games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Taylor Hall leads the team with nine points so far this postseason. This includes six assists so far in this playoff run. Logan Stankoven has six goals to lead the way for Carolina.

The Flyers Story
Philadelphia put out a much better effort in Game 2. However, Carolina rallied from two goals down to win in overtime. The Flyers are trying to force a Game 5, but it’s going to take a lot of work to get past Andersen.
Daniel Vladar has played well this postseason. However, he hasn’t gotten a lot of run support this series. Vladar has a 2.11 GAA and a .921 save percentage with two shutouts this postseason.
Rasmus Ristolainen is the team’s leader in points so far this postseason with five. However, he’s been held without a point so far this series. Philadelphia needs to find scoring no matter the source.
Prediction
The Flyers know that there’s no tomorrow. A loss will end their season and send Carolina back to the Eastern Final. We do expect the Flyers to give Carolina a game in this fourth game of the series.
However, the Hurricanes should pick up the win in another low-scoring affair. Carolina has been strong in all phases of the game and should get some extended rest as it awaits the winner of the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens series.
Prediction: Hurricanes win 3-1.
Best Bets
We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. The over/under for the Hurricanes versus the Flyers is 5.5, and we like the under in this.
As for individual props, take Seth Jarvis to get a goal for Carolina. On the Philadelphia side, go with Travis Konecny to get at least a point.
