Welcome back to another day of NHL Predictions. Each day, Last Word on Hockey takes a look at the games that are happening and gives our predictions for each one, breaking down head-to-head and other factors that may play in. We also have a featured game of the day, which is considered must-watch TV. Today’s featured game is between the Calgary Flames and the Vegas Golden Knights.

NHL Predictions: Calgary Flames vs Vegas Golden Knights

Vancouver Canucks vs St Louis Blues

Head to Head: Canucks 0-1 Blues

Our first game on the NHL Predictions features two teams who made big splash trades early on. The Vancouver Canucks take on the St Louis Blues.

Both teams are coming off crushing losses. Vancouver lost a high-scoring affair to Nashville, whereas Jordan Binnington got torched by Carolina in a lopsided 4-1 defeat. With other key names on the block, winning would soften any blow.

Predictions: Canucks defeat Blues 4-2

Boston Bruins vs Seattle Kraken

Head to Head: Bruins 0-1 Kraken

Our next game on the NHL Predictions is a rematch from easier in the year. The Boston Bruins make their first stop of their West Coast road trip to take on the Seattle Kraken. Thanks to Martin Jones, the Kraken defeated Boston the first time they met.

This will be a huge test for both teams who are in playoff position. Every two points matters now and Seattle is fighting for every inch in the tight Pacific Division. With Boston having traveled across the country, Seattle can always take advantage of the time change for them.

Predictions: Kraken defeat Bruins 4-3

Nashville Predators vs San Jose Sharks

Head to Head: Predators 2-0 Sharks

Our next game on the NHL Predictions features two teams who have not played in a while. The Nashville Predators took the opening two games to begin the year. Not ideal for the San Jose Sharks to start the year, but the rebuild is fully on.

Each team has their special blend of players. Roman Josi is stellar and Erik Karlsson is having a Norris Trophy-type season as we all hope he hits the century-point mark. The biggest news is that Nashville could become sellers and the Sharks are selling off pieces.

Predictions: Sharks defeat Predators 3-2

Calgary Flames vs Vegas Golden Knights

Head to Head: Flames 1-0 Golden Knights

Our featured game on the NHL Predictions is a Pacific Division showdown. The Vegas Golden Knights host the Calgary Flames. It has been official that Mark Stone has been placed on LTIR, but that has not slowed Vegas down.

Since returning from the break, Vegas has gone 5-0-1 and the break did them some good. However, they only have a two-point cushion on the Los Angeles Kings. Every point matters for seeding and against your division opponents. Things are not great in Calgary as they’ve only won twice since the break. Every inch of ice matters and the Flames are hoping to turn their own tide as they try to hold down a playoff spot.

Predictions: Golden Knights defeat Flames 5-4
