fantasy hockey

With the bodies that have been out of the lineup, health was on the horizon. Shea Theodore made his return and Zach Whitecloud is close. But one player will not be coming back. The worst possible news to come out surrounds the Vegas Golden Knights. Mark Stone injury now takes him out indefinitely. The captain and power forward for the team underwent successful back surgery. He is out indefinitely, and will not return to game action this season.

Mark Stone Out Indefinitely

This is a tough pill to swallow if you are the Vegas Golden Knights. For the second season in a row, Mark Stone has an injury. He was undergoing physical therapy, but after a setback, another plan was put into place. In addition, this is the second back surgery he has had in the last year. This is brutal news for him as he was plagued with injuries. The good thing for him and the team is he is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for next season.

Where Do They Go From Here

With Mark Stone injury, the team will have heavy shoes to fill. Stone is second on the team in goals (17), and second in points (38). The physical power forward makes a huge impact on the club, and he alongside Eichel was a large part of their offensive attack. With the available cap space available due to his injury, Vegas will look to make a big-time move to avoid a second straight playoff miss.

There are a slew of players at the deadline to target. Not only was the team in on depth players, but now they are going to be searching for an impact winger. One player they can circle around is Vladimir Tarasenko. He comes as a rental, but fits the bill to replace Stone.
