A lot of chatter surrounds the Detroit Red Wings. Dylan Larkin remains at the forefront of the rumour mill for the club. He is in the final year of his deal but needs a new contract. In a wild world, he gets moved, but there is another player who could be on their way out of Motor City. Detroit Red Wings Jakub Vrana could be done with the club.

Jakub Vrana Could Be Done With The Club

Rumour: David Pagnotta mentions the future of Jacob Vrana with the Detroit Red Wings

Detroit Red Wings Jakub Vrana could be on expired time with the club. Vrana entered the same program that Carey Price entered and has been away from the organization. As mentioned by Pagnotta, it is unlikely that Vrana returns to the club at all. Given that the team is more than halfway through the season, him joining at this rate is unlikely. In addition, General Manager Steve Yzerman will look to move him this off-season.

The Detroit Red Wings Options

There are two options that Yzerman can go in this situation with the winger. He could trade him for whatever assets he could get, or the more likely option is to buy him out. Vrana has one year remaining on his current contract.

Teams That Could Take Interest

Jakub Vrana could be shipped off by the Detroit Red Wings. Vrana has one year left with a cap hit of $5.25 million per season. Despite him missing this season, Vrana still has upside to his game. While he is not great defensively, he has huge offensive upside with great goal-scoring capabilties. In addition, he is good at driving offence which is a huge bonus for any club.

Teams that could take a chance on him this offseason would be teams who are in on wingers this deadline. The Minnesota Wild, New Jersey Devils, and Carolina Hurricanes could enter the chat.
