Welcome back to another day of NHL Predictions. Each day, Last Word on Hockey takes a look at the games that are happening and gives our predictions for each one, breaking down head-to-head and other factors that may play in. We also have a featured game of the day, which is considered must-watch TV. Today’s featured game is between the St Louis Blues and the New York Rangers.

NHL Predictions: St Louis Blues vs New York Rangers

Colorado Avalanche vs Philadelphia Flyers

Head to Head: Avalanche 0-0 Flyers

The first game on our NHL Predictions features inter-conference play. The Philadelphia Flyers continue their homestand against the Colorado Avalanche in this matchup.

Both teams are coming off tough losses and are looking to bounce back in this one. And the Flyers will need to be at their best. Colorado has the best powerplay in the league while also averaging 2.77 goals-against per game (8th). Philadelphia is at the bottom in most categories, and this is a matchup where Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, and Mikko Rantanen are licking their chops.

Prediction: Avalanche defeat Flyers 4-1

Vegas Golden Knights vs Boston Bruins

Head to Head: Golden Knights 0-0 Bruins

Two of the top teams in the league square off on tonight’s NHL Predictions. The Boston Bruins host the Vegas Golden Knights in a powerhouse matchup affair. Bruce Cassidy makes his anticipated return to TD Garden after being fired this past summer. A tribute to him should be in the cards this evening.

Aside from the main storyline, this game has much to enjoy. Jack Eichel is back to form and leads the way for Vegas. David Pastrnak is off to a scorching hot start, raising his price tag for his upcoming contract. Then star power on the front and back end is unlimited and makes for a great match.

The most exciting part of this game is the play between the pipes. Both Linus Ullmark and Logan Thompson have been playing great hockey. Ullmark has been stellar this year. He owns a 14-1 record, 1.93 GAA and 10.6 goals saved above expected. Thompson has silenced the doubters with his play as he rocks a 2.54 GAA and .920 save percentage. Both goalies will need to be sharp in this matchup.

Prediction: Bruins defeat Golden Knights 4-2

St Louis Blues vs New York Rangers

Head to Head: Blues 0-0 Rangers

Tonight’s featured matchup on the NHL Predictions is between the St Louis Blues and the New York Rangers. Both teams are in the middle of the pack in their respective divisions and are looking to gain ground on their opponents above them.

This matchup has a veteran presence on both sides that help pave way for scoring. The biggest key for the Blues is balanced scoring throughout the lineup. They have ten players in double-digit scoring, with Robert Thomas leading the way. New York probably would love to have Pavel Buchnevich in the fold, as he is second with 19 points.

New York has a top-heavy attack led by Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider, and Adam Fox. Things have not gone well for this team. They are 5-7-3 after a good start to the year. Brady Tkachuk spoiled the fun in overtime, and the Chicago Blackhawks won a lopsided affair.

The Blues are also on a three-game skid followed by wild antics by Jordan Binnington. Both teams will look to right the ship in the world’s most famous arena.

Prediction: Rangers defeat Blues 3-2
