Welcome back to another day of NHL Predictions. Each day, Last Word on Hockey takes a look at the games that are happening and gives our predictions for each one, breaking down head-to-head and other factors that may play in. We also have a featured game of the day, which is considered must-watch TV. Today’s featured game is the Washington Capitals vs the Edmonton Oilers.

NHL Predictions

Arizona Coyotes vs Calgary Flames

Head-to-Head: Coyotes 0 – 0 Flames

This will be a super fun game to watch because Arizona has won some games they had no business winning. So keep an eye out for this underrated game tonight. Looking at their records, things are not that far between these two. However, even though the Flames are a burning disappointment at the moment, they can win this one… Right? Maybe. But honestly? It wouldn’t be a big surprise if Arizona managed to pull off a win against Calgary. And if that happens, boy will it be fun checking Twitter in the morning! Burning hell, as always. So, just for funsies, let’s get these NHL predictions going on the fun side and give Arizona the win tonight.

Prediction: Arizona wins, 6-4

Montreal Canadiens vs Vancouver Canucks

Head-to-Head: Canadiens 1 – 0 Canucks

Now, this should be a fun game. The Canadiens won the first matchup between these two games at the beginning of the season – and it wasn’t a simple win. It was a 5-2 win. To start the game, Montreal had a 3-0 lead after the first period, which was chaotic. This means that Vancouver will likely be looking forward to a rematch – and taking the W this time.

Last Word predicts overtime for the second game of these NHL predictions, with the Canucks getting a precious win at the end.

Prediction: Vancouver wins, 4-3 (OT)

Washington Capitals vs Edmonton Oilers

Head-to-Head: Capitals 1 – 0 Oilers

To wrap up this set of NHL predictions, let’s take a quick look at the featured matchup of the evening. This will be an interesting game. It’s easy to guess who is the better team by looking at their records. Washington has a 10-12-4 record, and the Oilers are 14-11-0. Darcy Kuemper is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, having left the game against the Flames on Saturday and not returning. Now, this means that they’ll likely call up third-string AHL goaltender Zachary Fucale to help out. However, prospect Hunter Shepard was just named AHL goaltender of the month of November and could get a shot at the big league. If he goes up, that could be a big boost for the team.

Considering they haven’t made a move yet, it’s hard to make any predictions. However, let’s try and bet on the Caps to win this one. They have Alex Ovechkin, after all.

Prediction: Washington wins, 3-2
