Ottawa Senators Star Centre Out Long Term

Josh Norris Out

One team that has all the hype surrounding them is the Ottawa Senators. For the first time since their crushing defeat against the Pittsburgh Penguins, this team is built for competitiveness. Their top six are lethal and are led by Claude Giroux, Brady Tkachuk, and Alex DeBrincat. Another member it is led by is Ottawa Senators centre Josh Norris, who will miss time now.

Josh Norris Out With Shoulder Injury

Josh Norris is out with an injury. It is the same injury he went through last season. The crushing blow is that he could be shut down for the entire year. Either way, the Senators are down one of their top centres for the long term. Very unfortunate not only for him but for a team that looks deadly with him in the lineup.

The Impact Of Josh Norris

Ottawa Senators extended Josh Norris for eight years. Solidifying their core group going forward, he is a big part of it. Norris was coming off a career year for the Senators as he finished with 35 goals, 20 assists, and 55 points. He was third in points behind Tkachuk and Tim Stuetzle and the youth movement is in full swing in Ottawa. He is a crucial part to their top six and missing time is a massive blow to a promising season.

Who Is Next In Line?

With Norris expected to miss time, it creates opportunity for someone else to step in. Their forward group is in great shape moving forward and Ottawa sits third in the Atlantic Division. That player could he Shane Pinto. He has stepped up so far in his absence and is on a five-game scoring streak. The opportunity will be there for him to slot in Norris’ place and continue to contribute. Pinto is currently tied for third on the team in points (6).
