Denis Gurianov Stays In Dallas

The Dallas Stars forward is a young and crucial piece to the team going forward. So good, it warranted an extension. The former first overall pick with the Dallas Stars, will remain with the team and be part of the core group moving forward.

Upon being drafted, Gurianov has skated in 214 games and all with the Dallas Stars. He has scored 44 foals, tallied 50 assists and total of 94 points. He has also had postseason play, skating in 32 games and totalling 17 points. The young Russian has a lot to offer.

This past season he hit career highs for himself. His 20 assists and 31 points are all highs for himself. Gurianov finished the season with 11 goals, which ranked seventh on the team. His 31 points ranked ninth on the team and he scored four power-play goals and two-game winners. Per Money Puck, Gurianov would finish the season with a Corsi For Percentage at 52%. That was good for tenth on the team.

What This Means For The Player

This is a good deal for the player. The Dallas Stars forward proved himself worthy of the contract. He has the tools and the skillset to be an outstanding player. The 6’3 195 pound forward has the power and the speed to be an effective player and with his skill set can display his talents.

What This Means For The Team

This team already boasts young talents in Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and Miro Heiskanen. Add Gurianov to the mix and it gives the team balance. He has gotten better with each season. According to Stat Muse, his point totals have risen with each passing season. To extend him on the cheaper side and see where his production can take him. Given that there will be a new voice behind the bench, it could elevate his game from an offensive standpoint. He is suitable for the team and the player, and he does have the skill to be a good player, it’ll be exciting to see what the new coach can do.
