The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced today that they have re-signed 25-year-old forward Jack Roslovic. This new deal for the Columbus-born Blue Jacket will see him signed through the 2023-24 NHL season.

Blue Jackets Re-Sign Jack Roslovic

The new deal for Roslovic will see him making $4 million AAV. The deal is a two-year, $8 million deal. This is after a season in which Roslovic registered 22 goals and 23 assists in 81 games in 2021-22 while averaging 14:17 of ice time during that stretch.

Since joining the Blue Jackets in January of 2021, Roslovic has registered 34 goals and 45 assists in 129 games. This puts his career numbers to 60 goals and 86 assists in his 309 career games. Those games have come with the Blue Jackets and Winnipeg Jets.

General manager Jarmo Kekalainen was very enthused to announce the new deal, stating “Jack is an offensively gifted player with great speed and vision who has increased his production each season during his NHL career,” said Kekalainen. “He has made great strides in his all-around game, especially during this past season, and we are very pleased that he will continue to be an important part of our team as we move forward.”

Moving Forward

This move shows that the Blue Jackets have full faith in the young core they have at their disposal. In Brad Larsen‘s first season in charge, the Columbus offence made massive strides. With this deal, it shows that Roslovic is fully part of the plans going into the bright future ahead.

The young forward will work to maintain his top-six scoring role moving forward. As the next crop of Blue Jackets prospects continues to flow into the lineup, the team will count on Roslovic to be one of their most important secondary scoring options.
