NHL Predictions: November 1st Including Seattle Kraken vs Edmonton Oilers

Welcome back to another day of NHL Predictions. Each day, Last Word on Hockey takes a look at the games that are happening and gives our predictions for each one. Breaking down head-to-head and other factors that may play in. We also have a featured game of the day which is considered must-watch TV. Today’s featured game is the Seattle Kraken vs Edmonton Oilers.

NHL Predictions with Seattle Kraken vs Edmonton Oilers

Washington Capitals vs Tampa Bay Lightning

Head-to-Head: Capitals 0 – 1 Lightning

The Lightning currently lead this season series with a 2-1 win in their first meeting. A slower start for Tampa, they continue to climb back up the standings. However, they will also be without star winger Nikita Kucherov. On the other side, Alex Ovechkin will look to continue his dominance of the league. Ovechkin has absolutely exploded out of the gates this season. He is competing with Connor McDavid for the lead in both goals and points.

Look for this to be another close game as both teams appear to be some of the best in the East.

Prediction: Lightning win 4-2.

Ottawa Senators vs Chicago Blackhawks

Head-to-Head: Senators 0 – 0 Blackhawks

The Ottawa Senators are looking to continue a successful road trip as they play their first in a doubleheader this week. A 3-4-0 start has been alright but the Sens have felt they have left some points on the board at some points so far. On the other side of things, the Blackhawks have had a miserable start to the season. Obviously, the off-ice situation has not helped anything. However, they have also looked like a mess on the ice too. Routinely getting outplayed by their opponents, regardless of who that may be.

Marc-Andre Fleury did his best to keep them in the game Saturday but it ended in a 1-0 loss. Expect the Blackhawks’ struggles to continue tonight.

Prediction: Senators win 3-2 in Overtime.

Seattle Kraken vs Edmonton Oilers

Head-to-Head: Kraken 0 – 0 Oilers

The Seattle Kraken vs Edmonton Oilers is our featured game of the night. It was between this and the Lightning/Capitals, however, two factors combined for this one. The first is how can you not want to watch the newest NHL team in action? While they have hadn’t the best start at 3-4-1, they remain right in the race for a Pacific Division playoff spot. The Kraken are a solid team that will give you all you can handle each night. Jared McCann has had a hot start and Yanni Gourde back in the lineup only helps things.

On the other side of things, Connor McDavid continues to be must-watch TV. Once again, he is out to a flying start and looks to keep that up tonight. Leon Draisaitl is producing just as expected as well. On top of that, new additions in Zach Hyman and Warren Foeggle have seen very early returns too. It leads to an Oilers offence that is dangerous on multiple levels.

The Kraken need to stay out of the box if they wish to win this game. The Oilers powerplay has so much talent with the players already named and Tyson Barrie manning it from the blueline. Look for the Edmonton high-speed offence to try and overpower a solid Kraken defensive team.

Prediction: Oilers win 4-3.
