NHL Predictions: St. Louis Blues vs Vegas Golden Knights

St. Louis Blues vs Vegas Golden Knights

Head-to-Head: Blues 2 – 4 Golden Knights

The Vegas Golden Knights will begin a three-game homestand welcoming St. Louis Blues to the T-Mobile Arena. Vegas will host St. Louis for their third back-to-back meeting this season, where Vegas swept the first and split the second meetings. With the possibility of these two teams meeting in the postseason, one could expect this game to be the most entertaining game on tonight’s schedule.

Holding down the fort at fourth in the West Division is the St. Louis Blues. The team holds three games in hand and six points over the fifth-placed Arizona Coyotes. With a win tonight, the Blues could help themselves to lock down a spot in the playoffs. St. Louis has been playing better hockey as of late despite their recent loss. David Perron leads his team in assists with 35 and shares a tie with the team’s goal leader, Ryan O’Reilly with 50 points.

Vegas leads their division with four points up on the Colorado Avalanche and could do with a win to keep the distance. The Knights have had solid goaltending this season from Robin Lehner and Marc-Andre Fleury. With two studs in between the pipes and the star-studded lineup, this team delivers a challenge each night. Mark Stone leads Vegas with 59 points and eight game-winning goals this season.

 Prediction: Golden Knights win 4-1

Colorado Avalanche vs Los Angeles Kings

Head-to-Head: Avalanche 3- 1 Kings

Chasing down the Vegas Golden Knights is the Colorado Avalanche, who ranks second in the West with 72 points. The Avalanche have the fourth most goals scored in the NHL with 178 and the fourth most allowed goals. Coming into this matchup, the Avalanche have lost four of their recent five games on the road.

Two more back-to-back games are scheduled for action versus the Los Angeles Kings and Colorado Avalanche. The Kings have been under par at home for the season as the team owns a 9-12-4 record this season. During their recent seven-game homestand, the Kings were able to pick up just two wins. Anze Kopitar leads the Los Angeles Kings with four game-winning goals and 50 points.

Prediction: Avalanche win 5-2

Arizona Coyotes vs San Jose Sharks

Head-to-Head: Coyotes 3- 3 Sharks

Arizona Coyotes have dropped three of their last four games, which eliminated them from advancing to the NHL Playoffs. The Coyotes currently sit in back of St. Louis with a 23-26-6 record this season. Jakob Chychrun, Arizona’s defencemen, leads the team with 18 goals and 40 points tied with Phil Kessel for the team lead.

The San Jose Sharks come into tonight’s contest four points back of the Coyotes and looking to finish the season strong. The season series has the Desert Dogs ahead 4-3 with the two teams each sweeping a back-to-back, and one may have another chance to close out the season. Evander Kane carries the torch for the Sharks this season, leading his team with 22 goals scored and 48 points.

Prediction: Sharks win 3-1
