Bluenotes Podcast: Season 2, Episode 9

The boys are back for the new year and so is Vince Dunn! The Blues defenceman has signed a one-year extension to stay with the Blues. Tom and Wags talk about that as well as where Mike Hoffman will fit into the Blues lineup. The dynamic sniper is a bit of a liability on defense, so is Ryan O’Reilly/David Perron his best fit, or should he join Jaden Schwartz/Brayden Schenn? Plus, more discussion on how LTIR works and whether or not the Blues should LTIR Vladimir Tarasenko. The talented Russian is coming off his third shoulder surgery in about as many years. Should Vlad sit out the season or do you risk him halfway in? The boys also talk about Blues prospects like Klim Kostin staying abroad to start the season, the World Junior Championships, and hockey at Lake Tahoe!

Then it’s another Aloha Commentary from Guy The Hawaii Blues Fan. He talks about training camp, Tarasenko’s recent comments about O’Reilly being named captain, and shares some of his recent conversation with Darren Pang!

Finally, the boys (including Guy and intro music composer Luke Widbin) give their predictions for the West Division. All four have the Avs and Coyotes in the same position, but what about everyone else? The boys break down all of this and more on Season 2, Episode 9 of the Bluenotes Podcast!

Who are Tom and Wags? Tom Franklin grew up in Arnold/Imperial, Missouri and Wags grew up in Maryland Heights, Missouri. They both grew up diehard fans of the St. Louis Blues and have always loved talking about their favorite team. Tom was never athletic enough (or rich enough) to play hockey, but Wags still plays to this day! You can find Tom’s work at LastWordOnHockey.com.
