According to the Telegraph, out of favour Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after his car is believed to have crashed in the early hours.
The Spurs man was reportedly held by the police after his car collided with the central reservation of the A45 in Northampton on Wednesday.
The news deals the fullback yet another blow in what has been a turbulent season so far.
Danny Rose Arrested for Dangerous Driving
Police Statement
Northamptonshire Police released a statement, saying: “We can confirm a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving on the A45 in Northampton shortly after 4am today. The suspect is currently being held at a police station in the county and, as such, it would be inappropriate for Northamptonshire Police to comment further at this time.”
Another Blow
Since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, Danny Rose’s career has failed to progress. In fact, it has gone down the opposite route. Before, under Mauricio Pochettino, he was a guaranteed starter. Now, under Mourinho, he is often left out of the squad following the arrival of Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.
If the reports of the arrest are true, one would think Danny Rose’s career at Tottenham is nearing its end. With January approaching, too, Mourinho could opt to send the Englishman out on loan.
His current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, leaving him open to discussions on a pre-contract deal with other clubs as soon as January arrives. It is yet to be seen whether Rose decides to depart Spurs in January or, indeed, the summer when his contract expires.
Either way, if the news of Rose’s arrest is true, whether it be the summer or January, his time at Spurs will likely reach its end.
