Following suffering a fractured skull in the game against Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Raul Jimenez has been discharged from hospital and is now home and resting with his family, the club has confirmed.
The news will come as a huge relief around Europe. The hope is to see the Mexican return to action as soon as it is possible to do so.

We’ve seen head injuries such as the one the forward suffered against the Gunners become career-enders before. It was only a few years ago that Ryan Mason was forced into early retirement after suffering a fractured skull against Chelsea. Many would have feared the same for Jimenez.
The sound the incident made alone would have caused plenty of anxiety around the footballing world. Yet, the club were finally able to release a positive update about the forward when confirming that he had been discharged from hospital.
David Luiz, too, who was the other participant in the incident, looks set to make a full recovery despite missing the game against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
Concussion Substitutions Needed Sooner Rather Than Later
This collision may have ended with positive news, but it so easily could have resulted in severe consequences. The incident itself has seen many questions about concussion substitutions and whether they are needed sooner rather than the later trial date set to take place.
Using this situation as an example, it is clear the idea needs to be implemented. Luiz, involved in the incident, played on until half-time before missing the next game altogether.
Perhaps manager Mikel Arteta was conscious of the fact that his side still had to play over a half of football, and, therefore, did not want to use up one of his three subs.
With the implementation of concussion subs, this will not be a problem in the future for managers, who would not be forced to pick between player welfare and tactical thinking.
