Alexander-Arnold spoke about his contract extension situation and ambitions in Slot’s Liverpool after their 3-0 win over Bournemouth, as he stated: “I want to be a Liverpool player this season [as a minimum] is what I will say. I have been at the club 20 years now, I have signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public and this one won’t be either.”
“The most important thing is always trophies if I am honest. I want to win trophies, I am a player who is highly motivated by trophies and winning things and being elite. So that is probably the main factor of anything, if you have a personality that is elite, who wants to win and will do anything to win then that is what drives me.”
How Has Alexander-Arnold Started the New Season?
The 25-year-old full-back has had a very bright start to the 2024/25 campaign and is performing really well under this new system implemented by Slot. Even though he has been substituted in a few matches, the Englishman has been defensively strong to ensure that Liverpool have only conceded one goal from their first five league games of the campaign. He also picked up his first assist in the Premier League this season in the win over Bournemouth recently.
