Fabrizio Romano has clarified the situation of the Brazilian winger being linked with a potential move to Turkish side Fenerbahce, who will be facing the Red Devils in the UEFA Europa League this season. The journalist makes it clear that there is “no truth” to those links as the winger is fully committed to the project being built at Old Trafford.

The journalist reiterates that Antony has no intentions whatsoever of leaving United this summer and that has already been stated by those close to him. This is why he didn’t even consider the possibility of joining another club this summer despite the chance of getting more game-time somewhere else. The Brazilian winger faces a lot of stiff competition for a starting place in ten Hag’s team after struggling to impress in his difficult 2023/24 season.
Where Does He Sit in Manchester United Pecking Order?
Even though he seems to be defiant about not thinking of any club other than the Red Devils, Antony is not exactly an important player at United right now. He has not started a single match in the 2024/25 campaign so far and seems to be quite far down the pecking order for the wingers.

The Brazilian winger is well behind the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and even Amad Diallo in his natural right-wing position, despite ten Hag’s side paying a huge sum to sign him from Ajax in 2022. Antony won’t be preferred on the left flank above Marcus Rashford or Garnacho either, meaning he’ll have to work extremely hard and start being consistent with goal contributions to earn back the trust from his manager and the fans. Antony has played just one minute of competitive football so far this season.
