Manchester United are reportedly willing to sell Mason Greenwood on a permanent deal this summer. The 22-year-old is set to continue his career away from Old Trafford after a successful loan spell at Getafe.

Greenwood arrived at Getafe a few months after charges of attempted rape, assault, and coercive behaviour against him were dropped in February last year. The 22-year-old went on to secure a starting spot in the side, quickly regaining his best form after a year-long spell on the sidelines.

On Tuesday, he was named Getafe’s Player of the Season ahead of his departure from the club. Despite his recent form, United’s former academy star is not expected to return to Old Trafford ahead of the next term.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the team are working to sell the attacker in the summer transfer window. The Red Devils are reported to be “in active talks” for the forward’s upcoming move, aiming to make a profit from his sale.

Earlier this month, a report from the Telegraph claimed two unnamed Premier League sides have inquired about signing Greenwood. However, the “exemplary” forward is expected to continue his career overseas, with Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Lazio being among his foreign suitors.

The Red Devils have reportedly put a £40-45 million price tag on the in-demand forward. United’s demanded fee plus the player’s £75,000-a-week wages convinced Getafe to pull out of the race to sign him on a permanent contract.
