Chelsea suffered a dismal elimination from the 2023/24 FA Cup after suffering a horrible 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the semi-final. Despite getting a number of chances to score, their striker Nicolas Jackson wasted most of them and the club seem to be accelerating on their attempts to sign a new forward, as there’s a new update on their links to RB Leipzig man Benjamin Sesko.
Chelsea Still Eyeing Potential Benjamin Sesko Transfer
Which Clubs Will Chelsea Need To Compete With For Sesko?

He claims that they remain keen on bringing him to Stamford Bridge, but are actually yet to decide how much they’re willing to spend on signing a new forward in the upcoming window.

Romano also states that Chelsea have actually been tracking the 21-year-old striker for the past two years and that he’s on their wishlist alongside other names like Napoli star Victor Osimhen. With that being said, the journalist adds that there are about seven clubs who are currently keeping an eye on the Slovenian forward’s situation at Leipzig, and that the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in a potential move.
What Can Sesko Bring To Chelsea?
Sesko has been among the best young players in the 2023/24 Bundesliga campaign, having scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 28 appearances for RB Leipzig so far. He joined them last summer from RB Salzburg, for whom he had an impressive goal-scoring record after netting 29 goals in 79 appearances at such a young age.

The 20-year-old has been praised for having an “eye for the spectacular” and is a major threat in the air thanks to his 6’4″ height. Not just that, but Sesko is blessed with superb pace for his stature and rarely needs an invitation to finish off chances with his crisp finishing ability. Chelsea can definitely benefit from having a strong, clinical forward like the Slovenian to help the likes of Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku get more assists if the Blues can sign him in the summer.
