Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Jurgen Klopp’s side have “sent their scouts” to follow the progress of Leeds United’s young midfielder Archie Gray multiple times. The 17-year-old has gained attention through impressive performances for the Whites in the Championship.

The journalist also adds that Liverpool are not the only team tracking the young Englishman and that multiple teams appreciate his progress at Leeds United.
Romano has clarified that the Reds have not made a concrete bid for the 17-year-old and no negotiations have occurred. The Reds signed multiple midfielders like Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch during the summer transfer window, giving them plenty of options in midfield.

Archie Gray has proven to be an asset for Leeds United this season and has featured in 17 games in all competitions. While playing as a box-to-box midfielder in the Leeds academy teams, he has shown versatility by operating as a right-back this season in addition to his standard midfield role.

The teenager made 23 appearances in Premier League 2 for Leeds, scoring two goals and providing four assists. He has played for England at multiple youth levels, recently making his debut for the U19 side in October. Gray has been hailed as “incredible” for his impressive performances despite being only 17, with the midfielder being a hard-working player who can move the ball forward quickly and win back possession with his impressive reading of the game. It remains to be seen if he can maintain this good form and convince a team like Liverpool to make a big-money move for him anytime soon.
