Are Arsenal Really Interested In Hickey?
Fabrizio Romano has opened up on the Gunners’ links to the Scottish full-back and stated that there is no “concrete” interest from Mikel Arteta’s side for the Premier League defender. Considering how well Oleksandr Zinchenko has been performing for them since arriving from Manchester City last year, Arsenal do not appear to be that keen on making a concrete move for someone like Hickey yet.
Romano, however, has voiced his admiration for the Brentford defender, calling him an “excellent” full-back even before his move to England from Serie A.
He further adds: “I think Hickey is very talented, he was already an excellent full-back at Bologna and a very professional guy so I’m not surprised that there’s now speculation about him as he could certainly be good enough to get a big move at some point, but I’m not aware of anything concrete happening now.”

Hickey has made 33 appearances in all competitions for Brentford since arrived at the club from Italy, for whom he had six goal contributions (five goals, one assist) in 48 appearances. The “amazing” full-back appears to have interest in clubs like Arsenal but it remains to be seen if he can convince them to make a move for him next year.
