How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently
Aside from one or two spots on the pitch, there has been a settled starting lineup under Mauricio Pochettino. Robert Sanchez has settled in as the first-choice goalkeeper with a defensive line of Levi Colwill, Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva, and Malo Gusto shielding him.
Lesley Ugochukwu got a start in defensive midfield against Bournemouth due to injuries, but that double pivot is usually occupied by Moises Caicedo, Conor Gallagher, or Enzo Fernandez.
Nicolas Jackson has been leading the line with Raheem Sterling playing to the right of him. It’s the spot behind Jackson and to his left that have had the most upheaval. The left-wing spot has been Ben Chilwell’s but he was dropped in favour of Mykhailo Mudryk last time out.
The attacking midfield is the biggest problem area for Pochettino as Carney Chukwuemeka got injured after deputising for Christopher Nkunku. The manager has tried Fernandez and Gallagher in the role with mixed success so far.
Chelsea Recent Form and Tactics
The team sets up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and uses the full-backs to stretch the pitch. They haven’t been able to get results, or many goals, which means the bad energy around the club from last season hasn’t left.

With only easy wins over AFC Wimbledon and a winless Luton Town to their name it is difficult to get excited about the Blues and their hopes of success at the moment.
Chelsea Injuries to Consider
There are some standard long-term absentees who will be here for a while including Wesley Fofana, Nkunku, and Chukwuemeka. Reece James, Benoit Badiashile, and Armando Broja still don’t seem ready to return while Marcus Bettinelli remains sidelined.
Trevoh Chalobah is not fit to return, as is Romeo Lavia, but there was no update given on Noni Madueke or Marc Cucurella who missed the draw with Bournemouth.
