Manchester United’s Greenwood to Getafe Deal is Sealed
Greenwood Will Join Getafe After Move to Lazio Collapsed
Spain is the next destination for Manchester United youngster Greenwood as reported by Romano. The Italian journalist revealed that the deal has been officially signed between the clubs and the player has also given the green light to the transfer.
The signing has been officially announced just moments before the close of the transfer window. Italian side Lazio emerged as a potential suitor for the 21-year-old at the start of the day, however, the deal could not materialise as the Italian transfer window shut before an agreement was reached.
According to reports, it is a loan deal which does not involve any fee. The Red Devils will cover the majority of Englishman’s £75,000 a week wages
The transfer market expert said on his social media handle: “Mason Greenwood to Getafe, deal now sealed and signed! Manchester United and player give final green light. Deal with Lazio collapsed, Getafe sign Greenwood”
Manchester United Refused to Reintegrate the Player in Their Setup
United released a statement on their website last month that Greenwood would not return to the first team. This decision came after an extensive internal investigation and discussions regarding the allegations against the player, which he has denied.
It remains to be seen how the player is received by the Spanish crowd as he is undoubtedly a divisive figure despite his unquestionable ability on the pitch.
