Fabrizio Romano Reveals ‘It’s True’ As Manchester United Chase Midfielder
‘No Discount’
Whilst it is true that United have interest in Hojbjerg as an option to bolster their midfield, a midfield that has come under criticism at the start of the 2023/24 Premier League season, Romano also confirmed that the Danish players’ current club are in no mood to offer a reduced price for the player that cost them £15 million in the 2020 summer transfer window from Southampton.
Romano states that Spurs “want an important fee or Hojbjerg is not going to Man United.”
‘Message Is Clear’
If United do want to bring Hojbjerg to Old Trafford, then they will not be able to offer below what the North London club want with Romano going on to say that “Tottenham want an important proposal or nothing.”

Initial Contact
Manchester United made an initial contact with Tottenham with the summer transfer window heading towards its conclusion at 11pm BST on September 1. Hojbjerg has been subject of interest already with Atletico Madrid keen on acquiring his services earlier in the window. He has only made two substitute appearances for Tottenham this season under new manager Ange Postecoglu.
The Erik ten Hag Connection
Hojbjerg, now 28, has worked with Ten Hag previously when the Dutchman managed the reserve squad at Bayern Munich back in 2013 and also wanted to sign the player for Ajax before he first joined the Premier League with Southampton.

It will take more than just connections to lure Hojbjerg to Old Trafford, though and they will do well to heed the words of Tottenham and Romano if they do wish to add him to their ranks before the window closes.
Hojbjerg was included in the starting line up for Spurs in their Carabao Cup defeat at Fulham earlier this week.
