Liverpool Could Now Push for Ryan Gravenberch Move

What Did Gravenberch Tell Bayern Munich on His Future?

Sport 1 journalist Kerry Hau has claimed that the Dutch midfielder has decided that he wants to leave the Bundesliga club before the end of the summer window. The reporter states that Gravenberch’s entourage have informed the German side of his desire to leave, with the midfielder now willing to go through with a move.

Hau states that Gravenberch “could be on the move” before deadline day on Friday, even though there are not yet any concrete offers for his services from any side. The reporter claims that the 21-year-old’s likeliest destination is the Premier League. Liverpool are claimed to have him on their transfer radar, with Jurgen Klopp interested in him.

The Sport 1 journalist also adds that Gravenberch’s agents have been in contact with the Reds since February and the Premier League side has shown an interest in signing him. Manchester United are also claimed to be interested in a move for the Dutchman, who worked under Erik ten Hag at Ajax.

What Can Gravenberch Bring to Liverpool?

The 21-year-old midfielder is a graduate of Ajax’s acclaimed youth academy and made 103 appearances for them, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists in all competitions. That said, he has only made 34 appearances for Bayern since joining them last year for a rumoured fee of around £20 million (including add-ons).

Gravenberch is a versatile midfielder who can play in a number of midfield roles, including as a no.8 and even as a no.6 in a much deeper role. He can move the ball forward really well and is impressive with his dribbling ability too, having been compared to French midfielder Paul Pogba in terms of having a similar playstyle. The Dutchman, hailed as “fantastic” for his dribbling ability last season, seems to be tired of the lack of game-time at the Bundesliga side and it remains to be seen if Liverpool will push for his signing anytime soon.
