‘Really Appreciate’: Journalist Now Informs Tottenham Hotspur About ‘Starting Point‘ to Sign ‘Mesmerizing‘ Player

‘I Was Told’: Fabrizio Romano Drops Update on Tottenham’s Feeling on ‘Amazing’ Summer Signing - James Maddison

Tottenham Hotspur are yet to have spent the money that they received from selling Harry Kane – but Fabrizio Romano has clarified what they need to do if they want to go through with signing Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze this summer, who, according to the transfer guru: “really appreciate” the 25-year-old.

Tottenham Face Tough Demands to Sign Eberechi Eze

What Do Spurs Need to Do to Sign Eze?

Romano insists that Crystal Palace are not interested in selling their midfielder this summer after having already lost the services of Wilfried Zaha. He adds that the Lilywhites appreciate the quality of the player – but face an uphill task to sign him in from their fellow London side.

He wrote on his CaughtOffside blog: “Honestly, I don’t see Crystal Palace selling Eberechi Eze this summer. Tottenham Hotspur really appreciate the player but there’s nothing in it at the moment. I don’t expect that to change because only a really huge bid could change the situation.”

It has been claimed in the past by reliable Tottenham reporter Alasdair Gold that Palace considers a fee of £70 million to be the “starting point” for opening talks to sign the 25-year-old midfielder, which would be a really high fee, especially considering that Spurs signed James Maddison from Leicester City earlier this summer too.

What Else Are Tottenham Working On?

After losing their former captain Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, the Lilywhites are short-handed in the centre-forward role. It has been reported that they are currently eyeing three forward options to potentially replace the 30-year-old, including Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson, Brentford striker Ivan Toney and Gent striker Gift Orban.

They seem to be working behind the scenes to sign a new forward before looking into securing any other targets to improve the strength of the squad. Eze is an exciting player who has been hailed as “mesmerizing” after enjoying an impressive 2022/23 season with the Eagles, scoring ten goals and providing four assists in the Premier League during the last campaign. Spurs clearly like the quality of the 25-year-old and believe he can be a good fit for them, but it remains to be seen if they will approach to sign him.
