Blues Beat Man City to Signing of Michael Olise
If the deal is confirmed, it would mean Chelsea have beaten another league rival to the signing of a star player after gazumping Liverpool to the signing of Caicedo. Man City were said to be interested in the Crystal Palace winger, but it appears Stamford Bridge is his most likely destination.
The tussle for the U21 France international comes after a fine season for the Eagles, where he registered two goals and eleven assists and was almost an ever-present, making 37 league appearances. Olise has incredible ability on the ball, making him a top target for the biggest clubs.

Where Will He Fit In at Chelsea?
After a 1-1 draw with Liverpool to open the current campaign, Mauricio Pochettino’s side lined up with Reece James at right back and Carney Chukwuemeka playing on the same side off Nicolas Jackson. There were plenty of opportunities to get at the Liverpool back four, and Olise’s creativity could have reaped more rewards had he been a part of the squad. Should Chelsea get their man, the 21-year-old will be hoping to make a good first impression, as he did on current boss Roy Hodgson in April. After a win at Elland Road, he said: “I have seen him for 10 days less than I have seen the others. What I make of him is that I think he is an enormous talent – he has got a great possibility to have a wonderful career and a wonderful future. We can only hope we at Crystal Palace can give him that platform.”
Despite grievances from rival fans about Chelsea’s outlay on transfers in recent windows, Pochettino is building a side that is looking likely to compete for major silverware this season.
