West Ham United supporters have been given an update on who should be confirmed as their newest signing soon after the arrival of Mexican midfielder Edson Alvarez from Ajax.

West Ham Way have confirmed in their report that they “believe that the James Ward-Prowse deal is pretty much all done now. There are a few things to sort out but it should be completed this weekend and announced on Monday.”

It’s also stated that he should also start training with his new teammates next week as the midfielder prepares to kick off a new chapter in his career after having spent nearly 20 years at Southampton, where he spent his youth career too.
West Ham Way has also stated that the club are contemplating the possibility of giving Ward-Prowse the no.16 shirt, which he has worn before at Southampton. It’s stated that there are also special plans in place for the Englishman’s announcement, with the club intending to do a “golf theme” video as an homage to his trademark golf-swing celebration.
What Else Are West Ham Working On?
The Hammers are also working on other deals as they look to bolster their squad for the new campaign. They are also reported to have struck an agreement with Manchester United to sign their former captain Harry Maguire.
They have already unveiled Edson Alvarez as their newest signing and he should be making his debut for them very soon. Ward-Prowse’s imminent arrival will also be a boost for David Moyes and allow the manager to try out more combinations in midfield.

The English midfielder has gained a reputation for being a deadly set-piece taker, being able to play inviting crosses from set-pieces and also score goals from direct free-kicks too. The 28-year-old made 45 appearances for Southampton last season, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists from his midfield role, with his impressive performances in recent years making him a top signing for West Ham.
