How Preseason Results Impact Tottenham’s Predicted Lineup
Across four preseason games, the Lilywhites achieved a record of 2-2, narrowly losing to West Ham in Singapore and conceding three late goals against Barcelona to lose in Spain. Although these matches revealed that defense is still an issue, their offensive production provides evidence that the Australian’s tactics are working.
Kane’s departure will undoubtedly put pressure on Richarlison to step up his performances. Being cited by Postecoglou as someone whom he “really likes“, the former Everton player will need to improve if he wishes to become the regular starter up top.
A new forward outside of Alejo Veliz may be purchased to bolster the attack, but it would be much more financially efficient if Brazil’s number nine could heavily increase his goal production.

How Many New Signings Will Get to Play?
Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, and Dejan Kulusevski are the likely starters out of the new signings, while the rest will begin their seasons on the bench. This includes defender Micky van de Ven, who “is not at the level in terms of match condition” according to a statement made by his new head coach during a press conference.
Winger Manor Solomon will likely join the Dutchman as substitute options, while youngsters Ashley Phillips and Alejo Veliz will be long-term options and not see game time immediately.

As for Pedro Porro, it depends on what mindset Tottenham have going into their match with the Bees. If it is attacking, then the Spaniard is likely to be the one to get the start. However, Emerson Royal has shown to be the better defender and would be less susceptible to conceding goals, so it is a toss-up as to who will be on the pitch first on Sunday.

Guglielmo Vicario, Emerson Royal, Christian Romero, Ben Davies, Destiny Udogie, James Maddison, Yves Bissouma, Oliver Skipp, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison, Son Hueng-Min
