Romano has stated that United are locked in talks with La Liga side Real Sociedad over the possibility of selling midfielder Donny van de Beek. Negotiations between the two clubs will continue over the next few days as they try to find an agreement to get a deal over the line.
Moreover, Romano also stated that the feeling remains that the Premier League heavyweights will continue to work on the departure of another midfielder, Fred. The update confirms that the Brazilian international is 100% set to leave the club after falling out of favour under Erik ten Hag and not being considered a key first-team player anymore.
The Latest on the Sofyan Amrabat Chase
Romano has given an update on United’s pursuit of Amrabat, confirming that he has not been called up for Fiorentina’s latest pre-season friendly game. He states that the Red Devils are expected to start talks with the Serie A club over the signing of the midfielder soon after being able to finalise the departures of Fred and Van de Beek. The Moroccan is claimed to have always wanted a switch to Old Trafford this summer.

Amrabat, who has been dubbed as “perfect” for Ten Hag’s side, was one of Morocco’s best players at the Qatar World Cup and helped them make it to the semi-finals. He has worked with the Dutch manager in the past – during his time at FC Utrecht and knows how to play under him, which is likely why the Premier League heavyweights are pushing to get a deal done for him.
