Tottenham’s pursuit of Argentine forward Alejo Veliz is nearing the final stages as the player and his soon-to-be new club have agreed to personal terms. The youngster wants to join Tottenham and with the first step already being completed it is only a matter of time before Tottenham and Veliz’s current club, Rosario Central, will agree to their terms of transferring the player to the North London club.
Fabrizio Romano tweeted the update, along with confirmations that negotiations were active between the two clubs. As part of the deal to let this potentially massive talent go, Rosario have asked that Veliz remain with the club on loan for the following six months, giving them enough time to utilize his services in the Argentine top-flight.

Veliz Move A Postecoglou Target
Youngster Given More Time To Develop In His Home Country
Veliz has already been labeled by some excited outlets as a successor to Harry Kane. Kane might not even leave Tottenham this season, but if he did then Spurs would likely find another striker to fill in that role for the fast-approaching season.

If Rosario get their way with Veliz remaining in Argentina until the end of the year, then he will have plenty of time to transition into the weighty expectations that wait for him in the Premier League. The time in his home country to prepare mentally for this new role should be beneficial for the teenager.
A Deal That Cannot Come Soon Enough
Ange Postecoglou has been transforming Tottenham over the course of this transfer window. When taking the Tottenham job, the Greek/Australian manager knew that all his time coaching the Australian national team and even his time in the British Isles with Celtic have not entirely prepared him for the chaos of managing a London-based Premier League club.
If and when a breakthrough is made, fans and coaches alike can breathe with relief that Surs are continuing their march back to winning ways. As Postecoglou continues to invest in the team’s current roster, the pursuit of Veliz shows that he is equally interested in building up the future of this Tottenham team.
