In a deal that could cost £70 million plus add-ons for the French outfit Paris Saint-Germain, a rising force in European football could soon be theirs. That star man is Portuguese and Benfica forward Goncalo Ramos. 30 goals in 64 games, plus another four in seven appearances with the national team, add up to Ramos earning his club a high payout when and if the deal is completed.
PSG have already agreed on personal terms with Ramos that will see him stay in Paris until 2028. Italian Fabrizio Romano tweeted that the deal could be completed this week, and even previewed his tagline at the end of the tweet. Final details are yet to be completed, but Ramos might not have to wait too long until he is taking medical tests to join the Ligue 1 champions.

A Superstar At Every Level: Ramos Highlights
Notable Benfica Moments For Ramos
During the 2019/20 UEFA Youth League season, Ramos was the joint top scored with eight goals, including two in the final against Real Madrid. Unfortunately, it was not enough as his youth side lost the final 3-2, but he earned a call-up to the senior squad the following season, at only 19 years old.

After enduring a couple of rough years with Benfica, including losing a Taca de Portugal Final to S.C. Braga, Ramos was able to bring the Primeira Liga title back to Benfica at the end of last season. It is a shame that he might not be around to see the club seek another deep run in the Champions League
Notable National Team Moments For Ramos
In 2019, as an 18-year-old, Ramos lead the Portugues U19 team to the European Championship Final. His hat trick in the semi-final against Ireland helped him grab top-scorer, but Portugal lost 2-nil to Spain in the final. It would not be the last final Ramos would lead a Portuguese youth team to.
The 2021 European U21 Championship would see the same young squad of players make it to the final against Germany. Another heartbreaking loss ensued, but only thanks to a crucial Ramos goal against Italy in the quarter-finals that gave Portugal life to advance in the tournament.

Making his World Cup debut in last year’s Qatar World Cup, Ramos executed his most memorable national team performance to date. Portugal drew Switzerland in the round of 16, and over a stretch of fifty minutes, Ramos scored a hat trick against the skilled and experienced Yann Sommer. Portugal would bow out in the next round, but the young forward left his permanent mark.
Other Sides Had Threatened PSG Swoop
A player of this youth and quality will always have more than one suitor, and rumours had swirled about other clubs entering the mix for Ramos. However, PSG are now favored to soon gain the services of a star who might not be able to fill the shoes of their current star man but will not fail without giving his all.
